“Welcome to Grow Gators!”
I am pumped to launch this blog for all things GATORS, UF and BABIES/KIDS! As a new mama, I’ve been wanting to start a Mom Blog, but it had to have a theme. (I’m big on making things tie together nicely). Well, it came to me to start a blog geared towards Gator parents with kids, when I needed some info about fully initiating our new baby into the Gator Nation and came up empty-handed. Well, with my marketing communications background and social media experience, I immediately knew what Gator parents were missing: an online resource summarizing everything they need to know about staying loyal to the Orange and Blue.
There are over 350,000 Gator alumni worldwide, which means there are a lot of devoted fans (and many of whom are parents)! My husband Jesse and I are UF Alumni Association Life Members and both have even worked for UF. Our entire journey together has had a Gator theme. From engagement portraits and Gator elements at our wedding 10 years ago, to our pregnancy announcement, baby shower theme, maternity portraits and our daughter’s coming-home outfit, touches of our Gator loyalty have been sprinkled throughout our lives. Pinterest boards helped with some ideas, but what about diving deeper into UF pride? For example, who are the photographers with orange and blue props, what vendors know about the nuances of Gator Life, what businesses are Gator-owned etc.? These questions and more will be answered as this blog grows!
I look forward to engaging with my fellow Gators through this platform, and I encourage you to follow Grow Gators on several social media channels. There will be new and unique content on those channels as well.
